Your Rhinoplasty Journey

Pictures, videos and information on the Rhinoplasty process, from pre-consultation through to aftercare and settled results.

Step One: Consultation

You will meet Dr. Onur Gilleard in a 1-1 consultation in Harley Street. You will discuss your specific goals and whether or not they will be achievable. During the consultation, you will then see what your results might look like with digital morphing technology.

Step Two: Booking and Timeline

If you decide to go ahead with surgery, we will work with you to find a date that suits your schedule - you’ll need some time afterwards to recover! Our practice manager, Jayne, will work on the next steps with you, getting your pre surgery checks scheduled in and figuring out all the logistics. At this point, you will also pay a deposit to secure the date.

Step Three: Surgery Plan and Medical Checks

These are all included in the cost of the surgery, and include checking a few samples, a quick physical exam and a questionnaire, just to make sure you’re able to safely proceed. If anything comes back that will be an issue, we can reschedule for a future date so you have time to sort any issues.

Step Four: The Day of the Surgery

You will receive a surgery plan and a letter from Dr. Gilleard in advance of the surgery day. Your surgery team will include Dr. Gilleard, and Anaesthetist, and up to three nurses. This team is here to make sure you get the best, safest and most comfortable procedure. You will need to stay in the hospital for a few hours after the surgery, sometimes overnight (this will be detailed on your surgery plan).

Step Five: Aftercare - The First Two Weeks

Take it easy! The first week or so is the hardest, as you have to sleep with your head elevated to help ease bruising and promote effective healing. Your cast, splint and stitches will be removed by Mr Gilleard 9 days after surgery.

You will also need to wear tape over your nose for 4 weeks after Surgery - Mr Gilleard will show you how to apply the tape on the day he removes the splint. Don’t worry, we send you all the details on how to best care for your new nose.

Step Six: Cast Off

The cast off day is the first time you will see your new nose - it will still be swollen and healing, so make sure you keep that in mind when checking it out in the mirror. It will settle and change a lot over the following weeks.

Step Seven: Looking After Your New Nose and Follow-Up Appointments

Your next follow-up will be at 3 months then finally at 6 months. Mr Gilleard is always available to see you if needed even after this time.

Step Eight: Settled Results (One Year or More)

Noses take a long time to heal. That’s what the follow up appointments are for - to check it’s settling how it’s supposed to, and make sure you’re happy every step of the way.
